Your time and energy are needed. As the Red Feather Lakes population swells and vaster numbers of trees succumb to pine beetles, the probability of damaging fires in our immediate vicinity increases dramatically. The Fire Department currently has 16 active-duty members and several part-time members. Of these, some have full time jobs and others are seasonal residents. As willing and well trained as this group is, a fire of any size would tax the department’s capabilities, and professional help and equipment may be many hours away. Please consider donating your time and skills in whatever capacity you can. The department has full duty, limited duty, seasonal, and part time firefighter positions available. Click here if you would like to volunteer. The department will find a way to use your skills, whatever they may be.
